Arsenal-Everton (3-1)

untitled

It’s the last game of the Premier League season and we are one point behind fourth-place Liverpool. We need to win and we need Liverpool (who are facing already-relegated Middlesbrough) to lose. If we win and they draw or lose, we could have a chance of getting Champions League qualification, but if we win, draw or lose and Liverpool win, we will come fifth. We also need to keep all our players fit because our next game is the FA Cup final. The first goal came in only the eighth minute. Ozil crossed the ball into the box, where Danny Welbeck was waiting. He shot but missed his kick and sent it awkwardly backwards where (luckily) Hector Bellerin was there to blast it in. Goal! Five minutes later Enner Valencia and Laurent Koscielny were running for the ball. Koscielny knew that the striker Valencia was faster than him so he slid in and made a stupid challenge with the referee standing right next to them, and of course Koscielny got a red card. But then instead of storming off the pitch like most people do Koscielny apologised to Valencia which was very good. The next goal came in the twenty-seventh minute. Alexis Sanchez passed the ball into the box for Welbeck to chase, but Joel Robles (the Everton goalkeeper) was also going for the ball and, as I said before, the striker will usually get the ball before a defensive player. Welbeck did reach the ball first and Robles was way off his goal line so Welbeck passed the ball into the box, where Sanchez was free and had an open goal in front of him so it was a simple goal (for Sanchez at least). Two-nil! It was half time. The next exciting thing that happened was Gabriel Paulista slid to try and get the ball but his other leg, which was under him, twisted and he needed to go off in the stretcher. That’s two defenders off in one day and our next game, as I said, is the FA Cup final so we have to keep all our best players fit. Now the only defenders we have to play are Kieran Gibbs, Nacho Moneal, Hector Bellerin, Per Mertesacker and Rob Holding. But we don’t have Shkodran Mustafi. In fact he didn’t even start the game because he had concussion. So we were forced to make a substitution. The substitution made was Gabriel off and Per Mertesacker on. In the fifty-sixth minute Leighton Baines crossed the ball into the box, but it was stopped because Rob Holding did a handball. Penalty! Romelu Lukaku took it. He shot and it went right into the side of the goal. Two-one! That was Lukaku’s twenty-fifth goal of the season, one ahead of Sanchez. A double substitution was made by us: Granit Xhaka off and Coquelin on, Sanchez off and Alex Iwobi on. In the ninety-first minute Ozil passed to Aaron Ramsey,  who curled the ball into the far corner. What a goal! Three-one! What a way to end the Premier League season and the game. The final score for the Liverpool game was 3-0 to Liverpool, so unfortunately we will spend next season in the Europa League instead of the Champions League.

Arsenal-West Ham (3-0)

Arsenal - West Ham

As we drew our last game with Manchester City, I expected us to win against West Ham, but you never know with Arsenal. The first thing that happened was that we had the ball and we were counter-attacking. We got into the box with Hector Bellerin on the ball, but then Arthur Masuaku (a West Ham player) pushed Bellerin. PENALTY! But the ref didn’t give it, so I was really angry. Nothing else really interesting happened for the rest of the half, but both us and West Ham had good chances, such as in the 23rd minute when we had a free kick. Alexis Sanchez floated the ball into the box, where Welbeck was waiting to blast it into the goal. But unfortunately Welbeck missed his kick, which meant that the score stayed at 0-0. It was half-time. Thirteen minutes into the second half, Mesut Ozil had the ball and instead of passing like he usually would have, he curled the ball beyond the West Ham goalkeeper, Darren Randolph, and into the net! 1-0. Finally the breakthrough had been made and luckily it was ours. Ten minutes later, the play started getting exciting. Ozil and Sanchez had the ball just in front of the halfway line. They did a one-two, then Ozil crossed it into the box, where Theo Walcott got the ball and scored. 2-0!!! That was Walcott’s second goal in two games. The substitutions that Arsene Wenger made were very useful to the next play. Olivier Giroud came on for Danny Welbeck, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came on for Theo Walcott, and finally Aaron Ramsey came on for Mohamed Elneny. In the 83rd minute, Chamberlain ran with his amazing pace down the middle before passing it to Giroud, who curled it into the net. 3-0!!! We had won!!! I was really happy, but my only concern was that it looked like the referee, Martin Atkinson, was against us because three times we should have got a penalty but he didn’t give it to us. I hope we win our next game, which is against Crystal Palace, because if we win we will be only one point behind Manchester City, who are in 4th place.

Arsenal-Manchester City (2-2)

000_N75DY-1

Because of our current form (very bad) it looked like it would be impossible to pick up any points. I was proved correct because only four minutes into the match, Leroy Sane got the ball, ran around David Ospina, and scored. 1-0. The next goal came in the 41st minute. Shkodran Mustafi headed the ball into the penalty area, where Theo Walcott was waiting. When Walcott received the ball he needed to wait for a moment before blasting it past Willi Cabellero. We had equalised. 1-1!!! Only one minute later, Sergio Aguero got the ball and ran down the flank. Then he moved in a yard or two before he smashed it past everyone and into the goal. 2-1. We didn’t even have a minute to catch our breath. We were behind again. At half time there was trouble for Arsenal because Laurent Koscielny had a problem with his Achilles heel (which I didn’t know about before – it is the tendon above your heel). So we needed to bring him off and replace him with Gabriel. Later on, in the 53rd minute, we won a corner, which was taken by Mesut Ozil. The ball fell to Shkodran Mustafi, who headed it in. We had equalised again!!! After that the only thing that happened was substitutions. For us they were: Walcott off and Giroud on, Welbeck off and Iwobi on. I was so surprised and happy at the end of the game because as I said at the start our form has been very bad recently. Hopefully we’ll win our next game too and we’ll still have a chance of getting into the top four!

Arsenal-Manchester United (1-1)

Arsenal are coming into this game confident because of our current record of only one loss since the start of the season! But for some reason we usually don’t play very well against Jose Mourinho and November is not a very lucky month for us. Lots of Arsenal fans call it ‘November’s curse.’ The first half of the game wasn’t very exciting. The only exciting thing was in the 35th minute when Antonio Valencia of Man U started a counter attack. He ran all the way into the penalty box. Nacho Monreal was trying to stop Valencia but Monreal tripped and accidentally lashed a hand out at Valencia making him fall over. I didn’t think it should be a penalty because he went to ground too easily and luckily the ref thought the same thing. Other than that there were a bunch of good saves made by Petr Cech so at the end of the first half the score was nil all. The first 23 minutes of the second half was not very exciting, but in the 71st minute Man U won a throw in. They threw it down to Pogba, who passed to Ander Harrera. He did a cut back to Juan Mata, who smashed it into the bottom corner. 1-0 to Man U. In the final couple of minutes, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ran at Marcus Rashford, then crossed the ball to Olivier Giroud (who had just come on for Mohamad Elneny). Giroud headed it into the goal and De Gea didn’t stand a chance. YESSSSSS!!!!!!! We had equalized! 1-1 was the final score and now we have gone eleven games in a row without losing!

Arsenal-Swansea (3-2)

2934

This is Arsenal’s first game back from international break. I think we have a good chance to win this match even though Chelsea could only tie with Swansea. We have won our last five matches in all competitions! Arsenal kicked off and it was not very exciting until the 26th minute when Hector Bellerin headed the ball to Theo Walcott who used his strength to get past the defenders, then all he needed to do was smash it and he did it perfectly. 1-0! This was Walcott’s fourth goal in five games. Seven minutes later Arsenal won a corner that was taken by Santi Cazorla. It found Walcott who flicked it on, then spun around and BAM! What a goal! 2-0. Exactly five minutes later Granit Xhaka made a terrible mistake. He literally passed the ball to Gylfi Sigurdson who just needed to smash it in. 2-1. The rest of the first half was mostly under Arsenal’s control but Swansea had their chances too. The second half was a bit more exciting. In the 56th minute Alexis Sanchez passed the ball to Mesut Özil, the birthday boy, who volleyed the ball into the roof of the net. GOAL! Ten minutes later Borja Bostan scored, wiping out our two-goal lead. In the 69th minute Granit Xhaka clipped Modou Barrow from behind and he was sent off! I think it was very bad refereeing and it should have only been a yellow card otherwise there would be millions of red cards every week. So Arsenal finished the game 3-2 and with only 10 men, which means that we have now won six games in a row!

Arsenal-Paris Saint-Germain (1-1)

2774

This is Arsenal’s first Champion’s League match and I am confident because of our great defence. PSG started the match and within 44 seconds Edison Cavani of PSG squeezed the ball past David Ospina, the man in the Arsenal goal. 1-0 to PSG. PSG played better then Arsenal in the first half. Olivier Giroud the Frenchman came on for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who I don’t think should have been given first team football. Coquelin, who started the last game too, went off for Granit Xhaka who is a very good player. Mesut Özil delivered an excellent cross into the box, then Alex Iwobi smashed a decent shot, but it was punched away by the PSG goalkeeper. It then fell to Alexis Sanchez who smashed the ball past Alphonse Areola, the PSG goal keeper. 1-1! Olivier Giroud was booked for arguing with the referee. Then later in the game, Giroud dragged Verratti down and Verratti didn’t react well – so they both got a second yellow! Two reds in a minute! The game ended Arsenal 1 PSG 1. Thanks to Alexis Sanchez, we hadn’t lost our first 2016/17 Champion’s League match.

Arsenal-Southampton (2-1)

3849

So today Arsenal are playing their fourth game of this campaign and we really want to win. We are playing both of our latest signings, Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi. Arsenal kicked off with Mesut Özil, but we gave away possession and in the 18th minute Nacho Monreal tackled Dusan Tadic of Southampton. He got booked and gave away a free kick. Tadic shot and it hit the crossbar. It went down and hit Peter Cech on the back and went in. 0-1. And then eleven minutes later Laurent Koscielny, the 31-year-old birthday boy, scored an OVERHEAD KICK! Lucas Perez, the debut man, was substituted for Olivier Giroud (although I don’t think he should have gone off). Alexis Sanchez also came on for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who didn’t do as well as Lucas Perez did, and finally Alex Iwobi (who is playing his first game this campaign because of a thigh injury) replaced Theo Walcott, who hadn’t done very well either. In the final minute, Koscielny and Giroud both went down in the penalty area and it was a penalty. I thought we were given the penalty because Koscielny got kicked in the face!  But then I realised that the penalty was not because of  Koscielny’s injury but because Giroud’s shirt was being held. Even though Koscielny’s injury was worse, the penalty was given because of Giroud. Santi Carzola took the penalty. He shot and sent the keeper the wrong way. GOALLL! We Won!!!!!!! So now we have seven points and are sixth place in the table.

Arsenal-Watford (3-1)

2970

Arsenal lost their first game against Liverpool, then they tied with Leicester. This is the third and last game of August. Will they win? Arsenal kicked off, and within nine minutes they already had a penalty! Sanchez went down so Cazorla took the penalty. He shot and scored! 1-0 to Arsenal. Then thirty minutes later Walcott put in a wonderful assist, followed by a great goal from Sanchez. Six minutes later Özil scored to finish the first half. Eleven minutes into the second half Pereyra came off the bench to score for Watford. 3-1! Elneny came on for Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere came on for Özil, and because Monreal was injured Gibbs came on for him. The Watford manager Walter Mazzarri was nearly sent to the stands for arguing. And the game ended 1 -3 to Arsenal. Since the transfer window opened we have bought five players: Granit Xhaka, Rob Holding, Takuma Asano, Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez. We could have nine points but we have got four and we are in seventh place in the table. Hopefully we’ll win the next couple of games and move a few places higher.

Arsenal-Liverpool (3-4)

2723

So far this season Arsenal have just bought three players! Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano and Rob Holding. We would get a chance to see Xhaka and Holding playing in this match. In the first few minutes Alberto Moreno fouled Theo Walcott. Penalty! Walcott stepped up for the penalty. He shot and it was saved by Simon Mignolet! Sixty-nine seconds later Walcott scored the first goal of the game. 1-0. In the first minute of extra time, at the end of the first half, Liverpool got a free kick and from 28 metres out Philippe Coutinho smashed the ball into the top corner. So the score was 1-1 at half time. Three minutes into the second half Adam Lallana scored for Liverpool. Then seven minutes later Coutinho scored his second of the game! Alex Iwobi got injured so he was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Aaron Ramsey got injured too, so Santi Carzola replaced him. In the 62nd minute Sadio Mane, a new signing from Southampton, scored. Then one minute later Chamberlain scored to make it 2-4. Granit Xhaka came on for Mohamed Elneny, and in the 74th minute Calum Chambers headed in the final goal of the game. The final score was Arsenal 3 Liverpool 4. If Arsene Wenger doesn’t buy any more players, I don’t think Arsenal will have a very strong chance of winning the title this year. But the transfer window doesn’t close until 31 August, so let’s see what happens!
